Creating Colour Workshop

What a great evening we had when I presented how to make your own colours from
The Annie Sloan Palette.

This is designed as an introduction to the mysterious world of colour. We started at the beginning - Primaries and what they do.

Soon everyone was discovering that by applying some basic rules a whole new range of colours could be created easily.

Annie's Mix it Mat really came into its own here whilst we used first paint brushes then fingers to smerge colours together.

I love sharing all this knowledge so that folk can make their work even more special.

By the way our next Creating Colour Workshop is set for Wednesday January 24th 2018.

Our New Window Display

For the next two weeks our shop window display features the work of Doina Maravela Moss

Recently, I posted about her exhibition at the the Annual Salon of UK based Romanian Artists hosted by the Embassy here in London so to follow on from this we invited her to exhibit with us as a local artist.

Doina is a painter and architect, both a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts and a Member of the Royal Institute of British Architects.

Earlier this year Doina's work was exhibited at
The Royal Academy Salon Refuses (June 2017)

To see more of her work follow these  links to her on line gallery

The Isabella Plantation Richmond Park

Doina has made her home near Hampton Village London. Her professional background is as an architect working in around the city and her artwork acts as a creative release.

More of her work is also exhibited on the The Churchward Gallery site

Shakespeare's Temple

Our thanks to Cristina Schek for her lovely photographs.

Gilding Workshop Thursday November 16th at 6.30 pm Booking NOW

With Christmas coming up seems like this might be a timely moment to learn new techniques for making original gifts.

Here are some ideas you can explore on our Decorative Gilding Workshops.

We ran our Decorative Gilding Workshop Part 1 recently and it was a great success where all kinds of magic things happened.

Here are some of the results

Our follow on workshop Decorative Gilding Part 2 will be looking at other effects.
Of course you can choose either one or the other course or maybe both appeal to you.

The workshop is an opportunity to explore methods and we work on boards where you can test out ideas as well as follow the guided techniques with me.

Have a look at these images below

I love the decayed warehousey lustre of this one.

And this is a riot of colour creating an abstact otherworldly effect.

Of course each person's work will come out as a unique piece but that is the fun of it all.

If you would like to join in then just email me with your name and phone number and I will get back to you    jane@sheldonpaint.co.uk.
