Paper Making Workshop

Trained by Annabel Keatley, a talented mixed media artist, Vanessa will be presenting these new workshops at Sheldon Paint.

The first three are an introduction to the media and you will learn how to prepare and create your own papers. Vanessa provides all you will need for this workshop so you don't need to bring anything with you. You can take away the kit you work with so that you are ready to explore more at home.

Collecting petals and leaves to dry, herbs which release a glorious scent is only part of the fun! You need to start saving interesting papers to use as your mulch as well. Such a welcome way to extend recycling.

That is just the beginning. After making your sheets of paper you need to think about how to use them. Book binding, collage work, pretty note pad covers, greeting cards and invitations, even lampshades. The list is only restricted by your imagination!

I have added a link to Annabel's work so that you can see just what an inspiration she can be. Perhaps you might even fancy joining her at her own studio in Southern Spain some day?

Annabel is primarily a painter and exhibits her work at the Rowley Gallery London W8 although she works in Almunecar Southern Spain where she has her studio. It's an obvious step from this to paperaking as both explore colour and textured finishes. Which is really what defines her work.

I hope you enjoy my virtual visit around Annabel's world.

We look forward to welcoming you on one of the workshops as well.
